Waipunarangi is the whetu who soars with the clouds and weeps gentle tears upon the land.

She is the star of rain — the mist, the showers, the downpours that nourish the soil and fill our rivers.

When she rises with Matariki, she carries a tohu of the rain year ahead — will it bless or will it challenge?

Waipunarangi reminds us that even the sky weeps to help us grow.

She is the rhythm of the raindrop, the sigh of the storm, the sacred cycle of wai returning to Papatuanuku.
