Wrap your newborn in warmth and colour with this beautifully hand-knitted hat, crafted locally using Opal Wool – Hundertwasser 676A. Each piece is unique, inspired by Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser, whose art celebrates the vibrancy of nature and the beauty of everyday life.

The Hundertwasser 676A colourway is based on his 1971 graphic print “A Rainy Day on the Regentag”, part of the portfolio Look at It on a Rainy Day. This silkscreen print in 16 colors, with additional metal embossing in 5 colors on metallic cardboard, was developed in collaboration with Günter Dietz. Hundertwasser created variations within each edition of 3,000 prints to make every piece unique. Inspired by his experience aboard his ship, he wrote: “I felt it was the fulfillment of my fondest dreams: on board my own ship, looking out of my own cabin, through my own portholes at the rain falling into the sea.” The soft, flowing colour palette of the yarn echoes the glowing vibrancy of a rainy day at sea.

Made from 75% virgin wool (superwash) and 25% polyamide, this hat is soft, absorbent, durable, and machine washable at 40°C. The superwash finish ensures it remains non-felting and unshrinkable, combining practical care with artistic inspiration.
