Waiti Earrings
Wai means water in Te Reo Maori, and Waiti is the star connected to fresh water and the many creatures living in rivers, streams, and lakes—especially the korokoro (native fish). The engraved pattern on the blue Perspex represents the hinaki (eel trap) with tuna (eel) inside, symbolising the life-giving relationship between water and its inhabitants.
These earrings feature blue Perspex with a white gravograph design and hang on silver- plated, nickel-free hooks.
Designed in New Zealand
