Anna Gedson – 12-Point Sculptural Kete
Whakatohea & Ngati Rua | Contemporary Maori Art | Handcrafted in Aotearoa

Inspired by traditional Maori weaving techniques, Anna Gedson, an artist of Whakatohea and Ngati Rua descent, reimagines the kete using contemporary materials to honour and evolve her cultural heritage. Working from her studio in Te Moana a Toitehuatahi (Bay of Plenty), Anna transforms aluminium into striking sculptural forms that serve as lasting taonga (treasures).

This 12-point sculptural kete is handcrafted in shimmering silver and copper-toned aluminium, showcasing the harmony between traditional form and modern material. A stunning blend of cultural storytelling and design, this piece is both a visual statement and a meaningful heirloom.
