Hundertwasser considered Aotearoa New Zealand his second home. He was fascinated by Maori culture and occasionally used words from the Maori language in his art. Kopu refers to Venus as a morning star, the brightest celestial object after the sun and moon.

Decorated by hand in 18 colours with gold and platinum elements, this fine porcelain plate has been fired six times at 1200°C.
